Contract
now that i have time i have looked at the updated contract page. And much to my dismay i FIRMLY believe this is a wrong approach. i.e. someone plz explain how beserker just drafted colston loveland and assigned a 3yr contract to him but yet he is on beserkers team for 5 years instead of the 3!!! he plays on beserkers in 26(free), 3desination in 27, 2designation in 28, 1 designation in 29, then after the year 30 post draft he has a 0 designation and again plays free and yet beserkers retains the right to have him on his team and loveland does not re-enter the draft in year 30. that is 5 years folks!
and bear in mind for a 3yr contract he is on the same team and does not reenter draft for 5yrs. 2yr contract is actually 4, 1yr contract is actually 3.
also i am not just picking on beserkers here im just illustrating what anyone that drafted and put a contract on a player this is what you are doing.
SOLUTION; if a player in the 26 draft is drafted and a 1,2,3, contract is assigned, then that player is on that team starting in 26. for example 3yr contract assigned then player is on that team for years 26(3),27(2),28(1). once a player hits the 1 on the contract sheet then that is his last year on that team and re-enters the draft for the 29 season. Commissioner updates the contract at season end not after draft. no more free years in beginning and end!
your thoughts and no "that's the way we have always done it" and logically that is nonsense.
Also pops, I haven't updated the spreadsheet yet. It's all out of whack right now because i haven't cleaned it up post draft. Maybe it'll make more sense when I have it cleaned up, and take all the expired contracts off the spreadsheet. I was holding off because this is another workflow I'd like to transfer to a CMS collection.
