Week 1 recap
Well folks week 1 is in the books, and boy o boy points were hard to come by. Only 2 people from each H2H league even broke 100. We even had a truly horrendous 47 points from Kari…which I am truly grateful for because SOMEONE needed to score less than me (though Bennet did too). Let’s skim the wave tops from the Divisions.
H2H1
Hennything Goes comes out of the gate strong despite a horrid draft grade (literally the worst draft grade in the division). Having two people in the AFC shootout between Buffalo and Baltimore certainly helped her on the way to 114 points. She broke 100 despite getting a big ole goose egg from Xavier Worthy after he left the game due to friendly fire. Pretty rude to take down the league commissioner in week 1. Looks like Pops was the lowest scorer in his division (consolation prize he rocked EVERYONE in the Dynasty League)
H2H2
Berners Blitz was the top performer in this division. Despite the loss, Mahomes was able to put up 26 points and everyone else put up double digits except Drake London. It’s always good to see 10 or more from almost all your players. And, as was the case here that got Jori a win. It didn’t even matter that Baltimore DST got nut rolled and lost her three points!!
H2H3
I know it doesn’t really matter in Fantasy, but it was interesting every HOME team won in this division. All wins down the left side of the matchups. Kinda makes it easy to read. Elsewhere in the division, Matt kind of got screwed. As one of only six people to score more than a hundred points, he still lost his matchup. Speaking from tons of experience, few things are as frustrating as losing your H2H matchup to the weekly high scorer when you are the 2nd highest score of the week.
PNTS1
Hey I might have lost my Head to Head matchup but at least I also did shitty in my PNTS division too. And in the headlines again is HennythingGoes. She packed a wallop with 131 points and leads PNTS1 for now. Last years champ decided he didn’t like the 103 points he was supposed to score and decided to chill at the bottom of the barrel with 72 good for last place. Oh how the mighty have fallen!
PNTS2
Taking top spot in PNTS2 is Pulled McCaff. The name is funny because its true…at least for Christian McCaffrey. If there was a best team name prize, Rickey would have gotten it this year. But there isn’t and he’ll have to string together many more weeks like this if he wants any money. Bringing up the tail end of PNTS 3 we have Ooga Booga Booga who was anything BUT scary with his measly 59 points. But at least Alex did get his teams named correctly. That’s a step in the right direction. And lastly, despite having the lowest projected point total for the week, Karolina Kraken ended up coming in at 3 with a 101 point performance.
PNTS3
One of our newest additions this year, and first time fantasy manager, 3RiversYinzer’s ended up bring home top honors for week 1 in PNTS1. Much like HennythingGoes in H2H1, Dave had Josh Allen and Zay Flowers in that mega shootout on Sunday night. That contributed 63 points towards his 113 point total. Bennet Brown-Eye was the 2nd lowest projected points for week 1, and he delivered. Falling in at 10th place with 62 points. That has to be disappointing when you go into the week with AJ Brown Joe Burrow AND Justin Jefferson. I can’t imagine that kind of performance is going to hold.
Well folks there ya have it. Just a few touchpoints from each of the divisions. HennythingGoes has a STRONG lead by being in 1st place in both her leagues. Remember though, the multiplier in the H2H leagues really skews the scores a lot in the early season towards H2H winners. This will normalize after a few weeks and we’ll start to see a more even distribution. Expect lots of movement in the leaderboard over the first 6 weeks or so and don’t get too discouraged if you fall near the bottom (like me). I hope everyone had a fun first week and is looking forward to a long season of fantasy fun. Feel free to engage on the boards, in fact, it is highly encouraged. Hop on and talk some smack about your opponent or tell us about how you got beat in the last minute on a BS touchdown. I can't micro spectate every game, and there’s always some fun stories each week about a crazy win or loss. Or even about a very close game going into MNF, those are my favorite because it makes the game so intense. You individuals are the ones keeping up with YOUR games and I hope you watch them much more closely than I watch them. So make a post, I promise *I* will read it. Can't make promises for others, but the more posts that are made the more likely they get read!
oops a mistake in ptns2. poor ole alex despite his low point total he failed on naming his team names correctly too. Ooga Booga scared himself and he went running away from his H2H3 team name. He must have gotten lost in the forest.
