Good day all you HardCorps managers. After the playoff recap I though it time to actually distribute some money and wrap up the season. I was lax on tracking payments this year, and did not update payment information in the spreadsheet. It'll be honor system if you didn't pay, let me know, but I marked everyone as paid. The dynasty spreadsheet is updated. But I'll post here for the website. Here is how it panned out (totals have weekly high scores and rivalry week results added): Geoff: 655 (1st)
Missy: 240 (2nd)
Dave: 225 (3rd)
Lance: 175
Larry: 40
JJ: 25
Travis: 20
Steve: 20
Drew: 20
Bennet: 20
Dane: 10
Jason: 10 For the 2nd year in a row, Dave took home the Season High score award. Which actually pays more than 3rd place. That's a pretty grand accomplishment!!! Nice work Dave. This was enough to move him up to 6th place in the Hall of Fame (its a tab on the same spreadsheet). With this win, Geoff overtakes JJ as the all time money winner and Jason, despite a horrid season, still at 3rd. Dave, Missy, and Lance all made up some ground on Larry and Drew (4th and 5th respectively) but didn't move up. Bennet has the highest total of anyone who has not Placed yet with 110 putting him in 9th, while Steve Travis and yours truly bring up the ass end as the only OG's that haven't placed in the modern era. I've updated the Contracts tab with this years violations. Going into next year, I will remove the highlighted players from their respective contracts roster before the draft and the following penalty years will be subtracted from the these players total available years: Dane 1, Steve 2, Lance 1, Bennet 1, Drew 2, Missy 1, Larry 2.
There was some confusion last year so I'll restate here. Contract years are deducted WHEN you receive the player in the draft in the last positions. For example, next year I will get Trey McBride, Christian BrokeAFfery, Garret Wilson, Drake London, and Travis Etienne as my last 5 picks. Immediately AFTER the draft, all those contract years are reduced by one. ergo, Drake London and Travis Etienne will not be on contract anymore. That gives me 3 players on 7 contracted years + 1 year of penalty leaving me with 4 yrs to assign to my new players. Another rule to address now since I added a column on the spreadsheet. In the past I've tried to implement a win the consolation bracket and get a better draft pick next year, but it hasn't really panned out the way I wanted (which was to ensure avid participation even if you are in the losers bracket). Plus we don't really have the non-participation problem. So this year I'm adjusting the pick order criteria again. Winners bracket is reverse order of playoff finish. The losers bracket goes by reverse regular season finish. That is reflected in the spread sheet now with the last 6 people being placed based on regular season finish. This means the "finish" column is going to be reverse order for draft picks in the draft next year. Which leaves me sandwiched in the middle with a shit pick again.
This year was another year of very competitive play. Our lowest ranked teams were not eliminated from the playoffs mathematically until the last two weeks. That's simply astounding, usually there's at least one (and its usually me), that has no chance of making it after the first 7 games. Indeed this year it looked like that would be Lance, but that asshole snorted some PCP and went buckwild over the last half of the season. That is to say we've got a pretty solid group of people playing in this league, and it seems to have normalized with only 1 turnover since we swapped to the 12 man format. I'll start up a rules, roster, and payouts discussion in a few weeks, and I'll have it here on the website rather than email. In the meantime consider getting the APP for the site. I'd like to shift ALL comms to this platform so I can centralize management of both my leagues. The app isn't necessary but will allow you to get push notifications of when there are announcements, forum posts and other updates (I will not be reaching out individually via email in the future if you're slacking or missing important updates). Plus, using the site will allow me to inject a little more multi-media into the mix which should make it more fun. Once again, thank you for playing in this league with me. You guys don't even know how much I look forward to fantasy football season every single year and running this thing with you all along. SAD (seasonal affectation disorder) is a thing for me, but it isn't driven by winter and reduced sunlight for me, it's driven by lack of football games and fantasy content. On that note, that wraps it up for the season! As stated look for the new rules and season discussion thread to get cranked up here soon. Thanks again, and reach out if I messed up on money or rosters. Silence is consent and any errors I made are set in stone!!
